Saraki: Presidency denies involvement

The Presidency has denied any involvement in the travail of Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed that those claiming that the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Code of Conduct Tribunal are acting on external investigation are in fault.

Saraki is expected to appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal today over allegations of false declaration of assets.

Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar had issued a bench warrant against Saraki on Friday for failure to appear to defend charges against him.

The Senate President had served two terms as governor of North Central Kwara State.
