Robbers invade corpers’ residence in Abeokuta

For the third time in recent time, armed robbers at the weekend, again attacked residence of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), serving in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The lodge, attacked about 3am Saturday morning, is located around the Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta. The last incident is the third in five months.

About 10 laptops, 25 mobile phones of different brands and money, were lost to the robbers at gun point.

According to the victims, four armed men had carried out the attack, escaping through a foot path after the operation.

It was reported that, the corps members had reported the first two attacks to the police, without any action taken by the security operatives.

“We are begging security authorities in the state and NYSC authority to come to our aid, before the bandits start killing us,” one of the victims pleaded.

Meanwhile, the youths may result to making alternative security arrangements, though men of the Nigeria Police attached to the Ibara Police station, where reports were made, have promised to intensify surveillance in the affected area.
